Founder’s Statement: "Founded by a certified wildlife biologist with a lifelong passion for engaging others with the outdoors, Whetstone Habitat combines scientific expertise with a deep love for nature. Our approach involves working with nature through controlled disturbances to create thriving habitats."

Philosophy: At Whetstone Habitat, we pride ourselves on working with nature to achieve optimal results for our clients. Our philosophy is simple yet powerful: manage plant communities effectively to foster thriving ecosystems. We never force seeds or products on our clients because they hire us for our expertise in habitat management, not for selling products. Our focus is on what truly matters: managing plant communities to support healthy wildlife populations.

Our approach includes invasive species management, grassland restoration, early successional habitat development, and implementing best forest management practices. We also emphasize the importance of prescribed fire, a crucial tool in maintaining ecological balance and promoting biodiversity. These efforts not only maximize ecological and timber value for the landscape but also create ideal conditions for game species like whitetail deer. We believe that private landowners are the unsung heroes of wildlife conservation in the USA, and we take pride in helping them make a significant impact.

Mission: "Our mission at Whetstone Habitat is to provide premium land management services that benefit both our clients and the environment. We are committed to creating a balance between hunting needs and conservation goals, ensuring that our clients can achieve their vision while preserving and enhancing natural ecosystems."

"Our tagline, 'Give Your Property an Edge,' has a dual meaning. It references Whetstone Creek, which runs through our family farm, and highlights our expertise in creating edge habitats. These transitional areas are crucial for many wildlife species, including whitetail deer, and are a key component of our management practices. By focusing on edge habitats, we provide optimal conditions for a diverse range of species, enhancing the overall health and productivity of the land."

Client Success: "Our clients' success stories are a testament to our effective and innovative approaches. From transforming degraded landscapes into thriving habitats to implementing sustainable wildlife management practices, our work speaks for itself. We take pride in our clients' achievements and are dedicated to helping them create properties that are not only prime hunting grounds but also valuable ecological assets."

My most sincere belief is that most of our nation’s landowners want to do right by the land. As a wildlife biologist and land manager, I feel that the deterioration of the ecological health of our private lands is not a result of a lack of eagerness to benefit the landscape but simply a gap in knowledge on how to do so correctly and efficiently. Our decision-making and actions today will always impact future generations’ experiences in the outdoors. Let us work together to restore our nation's natural habitat, acre by acre, so that our grandchildren can live in the “good old days” of outdoor recreation. As I have done with many others, working with you on your journey would be a privilege to a better tomorrow.
